I just finished reading an article titled, "HR is Dead, Long Live Employee Experience” written by: Razor Suleman, CEO and Founder, I Love Rewards & Kris Dunn, CHRO of Kinetix &Founder of Fistful of Talent. Its emphasis was on the difference between Human Resources and Employee Experience executives, what does delivering a true employee experience look like, and what skills are needed as well as the benefits. This article discussed the various areas associated with driving employee engagement and shared views on transactional, tactical and strategy and what needs to occur in order to focus on motivating and engaging employees. There was discussion of the top differences between Human Resources and Employee Experience, as well as findings from a survey regarding where HR professionals primarily spend their time. If you are an HR professional, ask yourself what do you spend the most of your time on, transactional, tactical or strategy? Of particular interest was the discussion on performance, leadership and feedback and coaching. After having just read another recent article which shed some light on the things which attract and retain the various generations, I wholeheartedly agree that in order to remain competitive, attract, drive performance, and increase retention, companies must place coaching and development as key priorities along with strategy and leadership. Additionally, recognition and rewarding are critical! The article shared many outdated traditional awards and methodologies which are currently being used!  What about SaaS, is your company utilizing it to practice performance based recognition? The article touched on something I am passionate about, values based vs. rules based. It shared many companies who are practicing this philosophy and changing their culture. As an Employee Experience professional, I definitely recommend this article as it provided me with lots of great takeaways. Article can be downloaded at: http://www.iloverewards.com/

As an HR Gen, I find myself dealing in all three areas (transitional, tactical, and strategy). The book sounded very interesting, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
